DotAnimals is one of those deceptively simple puzzle games that hooks you with its cute aesthetic and then quietly melts your brain. It's a nonogram-style game, also known as Picross or Griddlers, where you use number clues to fill in squares and reveal a hidden pixel-art picture of an animal. It starts off easy enough with small grids, but the logic gets surprisingly intricate as you progress, making it perfect for a quick mental warm-up or a long, absorbing session.

You're presented with a blank grid with numbers along the top and side. Those numbers tell you how many consecutive squares to fill in each row and column. By marking squares and using X's to denote spaces you know are empty, you slowly deduce the correct pattern.
