It's a two-ball parkour race. You control the orange fire ball trying to beat the blue water ball to the finish. The mario-style platforming starts simple but gets pretty fast, honestly.

You're jumping over gaps, bouncing off stuff, trying to shave seconds off your time. The different biomes change the scenery, and there are some hidden shortcuts if you look around. Having the other ball racing alongside you the whole way keeps it tense, though.
