Boxyboy is a box-pushing puzzle game for the TurboGrafx-16, based on the rules of Sokoban. Each board gives you a worker, several crates, and marked storage spaces. Your job is to place every crate on a destination square while keeping enough room to move around the board.

Gameplay

Move through the corridors and push boxes one square at a time. You cannot pull a box back toward you, so a crate pushed against the wrong wall can become impossible to recover through movement alone. The challenge comes from the relationship between your position, the boxes, and the narrow passages connecting different parts of a room. A box on a marked square may still block the route needed to finish another delivery. You often need to leave a destination empty temporarily or move a crate away from its eventual target. The undo feature lets you reverse mistakes, and stage passwords provide a way to return to puzzles. Completing a room means covering all its storage marks, rather than simply reaching an exit with your character.

Good to know

The USA label identifies the North American release. Boxyboy uses the same central push-only rule throughout, so its changing room layouts provide the main variation in play.

How to Play Boxyboy (USA)?
