Gameplay
On your turn, spin the wheel and move the number of spaces shown. The space you reach triggers an event, which may improve your finances or bring an expense. As the game continues, the participants take on professions, marry, and may have children. These milestones give each trip around the board its shape, while the wheel keeps the outcome partly dependent on chance. Human and computer-controlled participants can share the game, with support for up to five players in the original format. Turns alternate between choosing an available option, watching movement, and dealing with the new event. Reaching retirement does not by itself guarantee victory, because the wealth accumulated along the way determines the winner after everyone finishes. Its slower board-game pace leaves room to follow each player’s changing situation. Reading event messages helps explain why a balance rises or falls and what a decision will affect.
