World Court Tennis is a tennis game for the TurboGrafx-16 that also includes a role-playing quest. Its standard matches focus on serving, returning shots, and placing the ball beyond an opponent’s reach. Quest mode surrounds those same tennis mechanics with an adventure world, turning matches into encounters along a larger journey.

Gameplay
On court, move into position before the ball arrives and choose where to send the return. A shot toward an open corner can force your opponent to cover more ground, while moving too far from the center may leave your own court exposed. Singles and doubles provide different arrangements of players, but both depend on timing and court coverage. In the quest, you travel across an overhead world, visit settlements, talk with characters, and take part in tennis encounters. Winning helps you earn money for better equipment, giving court performance a role in your progress through the adventure. The two styles share the same foundation: rallies still have to be won through controlled movement and well-placed shots. That connection makes an equipment purchase meaningful only when you can use its benefit during play. You can choose a direct tennis session or follow the longer quest’s sequence of exploration and matches.
