Busou Keiji – Cyber Cross is a side-scrolling action game for the TurboGrafx-16’s Japanese PC Engine counterpart. It casts you as a hero who can change from human form into an armored fighter. The presentation draws on Japanese transformation heroes, with martial arts and weapon attacks driving the action.

Gameplay

Walk through the stages, jump over obstacles, and strike enemies approaching along the route. You begin without the armored form, making basic movement and close-range attacks your first tools. Collecting the appropriate power-up transforms the hero and expands his combat options. In armor, weapons and a charged attack provide alternatives to ordinary punches and kicks. Charging requires you to stand still, creating a tradeoff between preparing a stronger attack and staying mobile around enemies. The health display shows how much damage you can take before losing the attempt. Flying targets, ground-level opponents, and bosses require attention to different attack heights and distances. The core task is to keep advancing while preserving enough health to handle the next encounter. Transformation changes how you fight, but jumping and positioning remain important throughout.
