Gameplay
Move and jump through dangerous terrain, defeat monsters, and collect the gold and experience they leave behind. Leveling increases your character’s capabilities, while shops provide equipment and supplies to support the journey. Towns also contain people who offer information, giving exploration a role beyond finding the next enemy. Each character has a different balance of reach, combat strength, and magical ability, so the same encounter can demand a different approach after another selection. Movement and attacks remain under your direct control rather than shifting to a separate turn-based battle screen. Bosses test both your reactions and the strength you have built through fighting and purchases. This console adaptation removes the arcade version’s overall time limit, allowing its action and role-playing systems to set the pace of the journey.
