Chew Man Fu is an action puzzle game for the TurboGrafx-16 built around four colored balls and matching floor plates. Each maze fits on a single screen, but wandering enemies keep the task active. You must maneuver every ball onto its corresponding plate to clear the room.

Gameplay
Grab a ball to push or pull it through the maze, including around corners where space permits. Kicking sends it rolling into enemies or walls, so the same objects needed to solve the room are also your weapons. Breakable barriers can open new routes, and a ball may need to move off its plate again before the rest of the layout can be solved. Enemy movement and the time limit create pressure while you arrange the final positions. The ball colors also have different properties, affecting how they behave when kicked into threats or obstacles. Collectible items can change the situation by helping you deal with monsters or revealing required plates. Clearing a room means leaving all four balls correctly matched, so defeating every nearby enemy is only useful when it helps complete that arrangement.
Good to know
The USA label identifies the North American release. The Japanese edition is known as Be Ball. This version combines real-time action with spatial puzzles, rather than using a match-three system.
