Gameplay
Play takes place in real time as you move across the island, clear contaminated ground, and sow seeds. Tomatoes, corn, and trees serve different purposes, while the passing seasons affect when crops can grow successfully. Harvested produce can be sold for supplies, making planting and defense part of the same economic cycle. Monsters threaten the fields, and ash can ruin land that would otherwise support a crop. Companions help with work and fighting, while a farming machine assists with clearing and harvesting. Its fuel and upgrades give you more demands to balance against buying seeds and maintaining your group. The challenge is to keep several jobs moving together: reclaim space, raise a useful harvest, and respond to attacks before the damage spreads across your farm.
