Digital Champ is a first-person boxing game for TurboGrafx-16. Your gloves sit in front of the action while the opposing boxer fills the center of the screen. The view makes reading punches and choosing the right moment to strike the focus of each bout, with a futuristic setting surrounding the competition.

Gameplay
Your two hands can punch independently, giving you control over the side from which an attack arrives. Holding a punch before releasing it produces a stronger blow, but taking time to prepare also leaves the opponent an opportunity to act. Defensive movement lets you duck or lean away from incoming punches, so success depends on alternating between attacking and avoiding damage. Opponents use repeated movements that can be read over several exchanges. Throwing punches continuously is less useful when it prevents you from responding to an incoming hit. As the rounds continue, watching the opponent’s timing helps you find safer opportunities to land stronger attacks. The close viewpoint keeps the action concentrated on distance, rhythm, and the boxer directly ahead. Winning a bout means controlling those exchanges well enough to knock down or outlast the opposition.
