Gameplay
You explore connected areas, fight monsters, and collect money to buy better equipment. Different forms have abilities suited to particular terrain, so a route that was previously difficult or inaccessible can become useful later. Mouse-Man can travel along special blocks, while Piranha-Man handles underwater movement. Other transformations provide further ways to move and fight as the search continues. Shops and familiar paths give you reasons to revisit places after gaining a new ability or improving your equipment. Boss encounters advance the transformation sequence and open more of the adventure. The challenge combines ordinary platforming with remembering where a newly gained power might be useful. Keeping track of barriers and choosing equipment for the current form matter alongside jumping and attacking. Progress gradually turns the world into a set of routes that your growing collection of abilities can connect.
