F1 Triple Battle is a Formula One-style racing game for TurboGrafx-16 built around a split-screen display. The road is shown from behind each car, giving competitors their own view of the circuit. You race against computer-controlled drivers, and the original game also supports competition among up to three players. Its divided screen makes the positions of separate racers part of the presentation throughout an event.

Gameplay

Driving centers on choosing a line through corners and finding a way around traffic without losing momentum. You need to judge the road ahead from the changing shape of the track, then move into a position that leaves room for the next turn. Straights provide opportunities to gain speed and pass, while bends can bring cars closer together. The separate views show how each competitor is handling the circuit, so the race develops across more than one section of road at a time. Completing laps consistently is as important as making an individual pass, since repeated mistakes can undo a good start. The Formula One setting keeps the action focused on closed circuits and open-wheel cars. Each race gives you a clear objective: cover the required distance and reach the finish ahead of the opposition.
