Fighting Run is a TurboGrafx-16 action game that combines robot combat with racing. You choose a mechanical runner, adjust its statistics, and face another robot on a dangerous course. Reaching the end is tied to dealing with your opponent along the way, so movement and attacks belong to the same contest. The machines are shown from an overhead perspective as they advance through the course.

Gameplay

The race gives both robots a route to follow, but the direct rivalry keeps it from becoming a simple test of running speed. You move around hazards, close the distance to the other machine, and use attacks to interfere with its progress. Position matters because approaching the opponent can create an opening while also putting your own robot within reach. The selected machine and its starting statistics shape how you handle that exchange. Keeping a useful line through the course remains important even during a fight: concentrating only on attacks can leave you poorly placed for what comes next. Its short, direct encounters keep the focus on the two competitors and their immediate surroundings. Success depends on combining forward progress with enough pressure to stop the rival from controlling the race.
