Gameplay
Ranged shots are central to the action, giving you a way to attack enemies before they reach you. A charged beam offers a stronger attack, but preparing it means thinking about the space between incoming threats. The stages follow a set order and alternate the demands of platforming with sections focused on shooting. On foot, gaps, ledges, and enemy placement determine when to jump and when to hold your ground. During the shooting sequences, staying clear of enemy fire becomes the main movement problem. Boss fights ask you to recognize openings rather than simply fire continuously from one position. The original game supports two simultaneous players and includes a cooperative beam attack, adding another reason to coordinate positioning. Progress depends on adapting to the current style of stage while keeping attacks active and avoiding unnecessary hits. Its mixture of movement styles makes the change from one section to the next especially noticeable.
