Mizubaku Dai Bouken is a side-scrolling action platformer for the TurboGrafx-16, also known as Liquid Kids. You control Hipopo, a small animal hero who fights with water bombs. These bouncing projectiles burst into flowing water, giving the game a distinctive way to stun enemies and control nearby platforms.

Gameplay
Run and jump through the stages while throwing water bombs at the creatures blocking your path. Holding the attack builds a larger bomb, changing both its impact and the amount of water released when it bursts. Water spreads along surfaces and falls to lower platforms, so a throw can affect enemies beyond its first point of contact. Soaked enemies can be kicked along the ground, letting them collide with other opponents. This creates opportunities to turn a small opening into a chain of hits. Positioning matters when charging a bomb, because an approaching enemy may reach you before the larger throw is ready. Platforms and gaps also demand attention as you move between attacks. Boss encounters bring larger targets that require repeated hits and careful avoidance. The water’s movement gives each section a small environmental puzzle within the platforming action.
