Monster Puroresu is a TurboGrafx-16 wrestling game with a roster of supernatural fighters and command-based matches. You choose techniques and resolve exchanges through a number-based system, with large animated scenes showing the results. Character statistics and resource choices give the bouts a role-playing element alongside their exaggerated monster action.

Gameplay
Select a wrestler and distribute points among the available attributes before entering the competition. During a match, choose a move from the displayed options, then take part in the roulette-style exchange that determines which competitor attacks. Strong techniques come with different chances of success, making the move selection a balance between potential damage and reliability. Guts points add another resource to consider during these exchanges. The chosen attacks play out through large character animations that emphasize the monsters’ unusual bodies and comic reactions. Each successful exchange reduces the opponent’s health, and the bout continues until one fighter is defeated. Winning can provide additional development points and access to an opponent’s skill. The result is a series of short decisions about techniques, attributes, and resource use. Following your wrestler’s health and available options helps you judge how much risk to take in the next exchange.
