Gameplay
You choose actions through menus and use a map to move around the mansion. Conversations provide the information needed to understand the case, making careful reading the main activity. Rather than testing jump timing or aiming, the game asks you to follow what people say and decide where to investigate next. The mansion gives the investigation a contained setting, with different rooms providing access to its occupants. Moving between these locations and comparing the information available forms the core of play. Its illustrated scenes and written exchanges carry the story as you work toward explaining the crime. The map can be opened whenever you need to choose another destination. Keeping track of who occupies each room helps organize the information gathered as the detective moves around the building.
