Gameplay

Your team has players inside the court and teammates positioned around its outer edges. Passing between them changes the angle of attack and can catch an opponent facing the wrong direction. A successful throw reduces an opposing player’s health, while a well-timed catch gives your side possession. Defensive movement also lets you dodge an incoming ball instead of attempting a catch. Running and jumping throws add variety, and individual players have powerful special shots that make the ball more dangerous. Four inner-court players give each side several targets to defend and attack. As those players lose their remaining health, the balance of the match changes. You need to switch quickly between creating a throwing opportunity and protecting the players still standing. Matches against different national teams bring new opponents into the tournament. The combination of passing, catching, and health-based elimination gives this version its own rhythm within the series.
