Gameplay
The basic objective is scoring more goals than the opposing team before time expires. You move your controlled player around the field, working with teammates to carry possession toward the other goal. Passing creates openings, while shooting turns those openings into scoring attempts. Physical contact can knock players down, making a crowded midfield a lively place to chase the ball. Headers and bicycle kicks let you attack an airborne ball, and special shots add unusual trajectories and extra force to an attempt on goal. Different playing surfaces introduce further obstacles to straightforward movement. The tournament begins with the Nekketsu team and takes it through a sequence of opposing sides. A match can swing quickly when possession changes, since an aggressive attack may leave room for a counterattack. Defending involves closing down the ball carrier as well as protecting the goal. Its cartoon reactions and forceful shooting keep the emphasis on active, unpredictable matches.
