Gameplay
Most stages send Higgins from left to right through enemies, gaps, and environmental hazards. Fruit replenishes the meter as it steadily falls, so collecting food is part of reaching the exit safely. Contact with an enemy can cost a life even when the meter is full, making careful jumps essential. Eggs contain useful items, including weapons that let you attack before a threat gets close. Axes travel in arcs, while other pickups change the reach and behavior of your shots. A skateboard increases your speed and turns the stage into a faster test of obstacle timing. The pace changes when you reach a boss, where finding safe openings matters more than gathering fruit along a path. Hidden items reward attention to unusual spots in the scenery. Each cleared area brings Higgins closer to the captives, with weapon use, food collection, and accurate jumping remaining important throughout the rescue.
