Out Live is a science-fiction role-playing game for the TurboGrafx-16 built around first-person dungeon exploration. You pilot a giant robot through maze-like underground areas, encountering mechanical opponents along the way. Turn-based battles and equipment upgrades make it a dungeon crawler with a technological setting and combat focus.

Gameplay

Exploration advances through corridors from the robot’s point of view. Turning at intersections and remembering connections are central to finding a route through each complex. A compass helps you keep track of direction as similar-looking passages branch away from one another. Enemy encounters lead into command-based fights where weapons and the robot’s condition determine your options. Winning provides experience and resources for improving your ability to handle later opponents. Preparation between expeditions matters because stronger equipment can change a difficult battle’s outcome. Settlements provide a place to regroup before returning to hostile underground areas. Each trip asks you to weigh further exploration against the risk of continuing with a damaged machine. The first-person viewpoint makes navigation feel immediate, while the turn structure leaves time to consider combat decisions. Its combination of robot development and careful route finding keeps both memory and preparation involved as you work deeper into the adventure.
