PC Denjin – Punkic Cyborgs is a side-scrolling shoot ’em up for the TurboGrafx-16 platform. Released in North America as Air Zonk, it puts a flying cyborg hero into a cartoon future inspired by the Bonk series. Strange weapons and companion characters give its shooting a deliberately exaggerated style.

Gameplay
You steer Zonk through enemy formations while keeping fire on the targets ahead. Weapon pickups replace his current attack, and holding a shot charges a stronger version. Charging for longer also gives access to a powerful bomb attack. These options make the timing of an attack relevant even when the screen is full of smaller enemies. Smiling face items build toward the arrival of a helper, which follows Zonk and adds supporting fire. Collecting more faces can combine the two characters into a hybrid form with a different attack and temporary invulnerability. That progression makes collecting items a major part of each stage. You still need to leave room to dodge while pursuing them, since a useful pickup can sit in a dangerous flight path. Larger enemies test both your movement and the weapon combination you have assembled.
