PC Genjin – Pithecanthropus Computerurus is a side-scrolling platformer for the TurboGrafx-16 platform. Known in North America as Bonk’s Adventure, it follows a small caveman whose oversized head doubles as his main weapon. Cartoon prehistoric creatures and expressive animations give the journey a playful tone.

Gameplay

Bonk walks, jumps, and headbutts his way through stages filled with enemies and gaps. On the ground, a headbutt reaches targets directly ahead. In the air, turning his head downward lets him attack enemies beneath him. Repeated aerial spins also affect how long he stays airborne, making attacking and jumping closely connected. Meat powers up his attacks and produces more dramatic reactions, while other food helps support the journey. Certain surfaces let Bonk climb using his teeth, opening paths above the usual walking route. The levels mix these abilities with moving enemies, water, and large confrontations that require a closer look at their attack patterns. The main rhythm is to advance through each area while choosing when to land, when to keep spinning, and when to use a headbutt to clear a route.
