Gameplay
You choose a team and a pitcher, then take responsibility for both offense and defense. Batting requires you to judge when a pitch reaches the hitting area and commit to a swing. Once the ball is in play, its destination determines where runners can go and where the defense needs to respond. Pitching begins the defensive half, followed by fielding and throws to the bases when the batter makes contact. Open mode sets up a game against the computer, while Versus lets two players face each other. Pennant mode turns those individual games into a longer competition against other teams. All Star mode lets you assemble a selected lineup, and Home Run mode concentrates on batting. Those options make it possible to work on hitting or play a complete game using the same core baseball controls.
