Power League is a baseball game for the TurboGrafx-16 platform, released by Hudson Soft for Japan’s PC Engine. The original entry in the series became known in North America as World Class Baseball. Its compact players and overhead field view support a quick-moving game with direct control of batting, pitching, and defense.

Gameplay

Choose a team and take turns at bat and in the field. Batting depends on positioning and swing timing, with bunts providing another way to move the ball into play. Once you have runners on base, deciding when to advance becomes as important as making contact. Pitching lets you vary deliveries to make the next swing harder to time, and relief pitchers offer a way to change the matchup. When a hit reaches the field, you need to retrieve the ball and throw toward the appropriate base before the runner arrives. Pennant play provides a sequence of opponents, while a versus game offers a direct contest between two players. The edit options let you adjust team arrangements, and Watch mode runs a matchup between computer-controlled teams. Each format uses the same inning-by-inning contest for runs and outs.
