Pro Tennis World Court is a TurboGrafx-16 tennis game with an unusual role-playing component. Namco combines conventional court matches with a separate quest in which tennis contests replace battles. It offers both straightforward sports play and an adventure that connects matches through travel, conversations, and equipment purchases.

Gameplay
On the court, you move to intercept the ball, time your swing, and send returns beyond your opponent’s reach. Singles and doubles change how much space each player must cover. Serving, holding position, and choosing when to approach the net all affect a rally. Winning individual points builds toward games and sets under tennis scoring. The quest adds a different rhythm around those familiar exchanges. You explore an overhead world, visit towns, speak with people, and encounter opponents who challenge you to tennis. Money earned through play can buy better rackets, shoes, and clothing. These upgrades give the journey a sense of progression alongside improvements in your own timing. Travel leads back to the court repeatedly, so learning reliable serves and returns helps throughout the adventure. The combination makes tennis the central skill in both parts of the game.
