Pro Yakyuu World Stadium ’91 is a TurboGrafx-16 baseball game from Namco’s World Stadium series. It follows the earlier PC Engine World Stadium release, using small, cartoonlike players and an arcade approach to the sport. You control the action on both sides of the ball as teams trade turns at bat.

Gameplay

At the plate, the immediate task is to judge the incoming pitch and time a swing that puts the ball into play. Contact starts a second decision: how far your runners can advance before the defense returns the ball. A safe hit can build an inning, while sending a runner too far can surrender an out. When pitching, you try to disrupt the batter’s timing and force manageable hits. Once the ball enters the field, defensive positioning and throws determine whether runners reach base safely. The game moves between a close view of the pitcher-batter exchange and a wider view of live fielding. Its compact presentation keeps the score, outs, and occupied bases central to each play. The goal across the innings is to produce more runs while limiting the other team’s chances.
