Ryukyu is a playing-card puzzle game for the TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine. It combines falling-piece placement with poker combinations, asking you to arrange cards into scoring hands. The board turns familiar card ranks and suits into a spatial challenge, where each placement can contribute to several possible lines at once.

Gameplay
Cards enter the play area and must be positioned to form valid poker hands horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. This makes the value of a space depend on the cards already nearby. A card that completes one combination may also change what can be built in a crossing line. You have to read both rank and suit while considering where the next card might fit. Stronger combinations offer a reason to plan ahead, but leaving too many unfinished lines can make later placements awkward. The challenge lies in balancing immediate scoring chances with room for better hands. Since the next card may not support your preferred plan, adapting the board is part of the puzzle. Familiarity with poker hands helps you recognize useful arrangements quickly, while careful placement turns those possibilities into completed lines.
