Samurai-Ghost is a side-scrolling sword-action game for the TurboGrafx-16, released by Namco. You control the resurrected warrior Kagekiyo as he fights demons and other supernatural enemies. Large character sprites and directional sword attacks give the action a deliberate feel, with reach and positioning playing a central role in combat.

Gameplay
You move across the stage, jump around hazards, and bring enemies within the reach of your blade. Holding different directions while attacking changes the sword’s position, allowing you to address threats at different heights. That makes the timing of a swing only one part of landing a hit: the blade also has to meet the enemy in the right place. Moving too close can expose Kagekiyo to contact before an attack connects. Platforming and combat share the same space, so a jump may be needed to cross terrain while also avoiding an opponent. Larger enemies and boss encounters make reading their movement especially important. The game’s supernatural setting supports a variety of enemy shapes, but the central task stays consistent: control distance, strike through an opening, and keep enough health to reach the next section.
