Gameplay
Basic attacks cover different heights, and a sliding strike provides another way to hit an approaching enemy. Rick’s movement is measured enough that starting an attack from the correct distance matters. You cannot simply run past every threat without considering where the next creature or hazard will appear. Found weapons change the reach or power of an attack, while a shotgun supplies a small number of ranged shots. The stages mix fights with obstacles that punish careless landings and poorly timed movement. Larger opponents require watching their behavior and attacking during an opening. Progress comes from learning those encounters and preserving enough health to reach the next one. The game’s horror presentation includes blood, disturbing creatures, and scenes built around danger within the mansion, making its theme a significant part of the experience.
