Gameplay
Exploration uses an overhead view, with monsters visible as they roam the world map. Their locations affect how you travel: getting close can lead to a battle, while watching their movements can help you choose another route. Towns provide conversations, shops, and places to recover, giving you reasons to return between trips into dangerous areas. A day-and-night cycle also affects activity in the world, including when some services are available. Battles take place on a separate overhead field where movement and attacks are handled through commands. Closing the distance to an enemy and choosing where to stand are part of combat, alongside developing your character’s strength. Progress comes from balancing those fights with recovery, supplies, and the information needed to continue the journey.
