Gameplay
On offense, you control the player carrying the ball, move toward the basket, and pass to teammates to create a shooting chance. High and low passes provide different ways to move possession through the defense. When the other team attacks, you switch defenders to follow the ball and try to stop a scoring attempt. Team management also affects the action. Athletes have individual abilities and energy levels, and their energy falls during a game, making substitutions useful as a match continues. Defensive settings include man-to-man coverage, zone defense, and a combination of the two. Under the basket, a dunk can bring up a separate view in which the timing of your input decides the finish. Free throws use a similar shift in presentation. Those sequences give scoring opportunities a different feel from ordinary movement and passing, while the larger objective stays familiar: build a lead and hold it through the final quarter.
