Tennokoe Bank is a save-data management utility for the TurboGrafx-16’s Japanese PC Engine hardware family. It provides a menu system for backing up and restoring saved progress. The original HuCard worked with the save memory used by compatible PC Engine equipment, including CD systems and the Tennokoe 2 accessory.

Gameplay
The interface is organized around moving stored data between the system’s working save memory and the card’s backup banks. Four banks give the original product space to keep multiple sets of saves. Selecting a bank and checking the direction of a transfer are the main tasks, because copying data into an occupied destination can replace what was stored there. The utility’s purpose is practical: retain progress from other software, make room in limited system memory, and restore a saved set when needed. Its menus represent storage operations rather than levels or matches, so navigation and confirmation take the place of direct character control. When running through an emulator, available operations depend on how that emulator supports the relevant backup memory and card hardware. A menu appearing successfully does not by itself establish that a transfer can be retained.
Good to know
This Japanese release uses Japanese text and menus; understanding the transfer prompts helps distinguish the source from the destination.
