Timeball is a sliding-tile puzzle game for TurboGrafx-16. A ball rolls along pieces of track arranged on a grid, and you rearrange the tiles to keep its route connected. The moving ball turns a familiar sliding puzzle into a real-time problem, since the board keeps changing while you work out the next connection.

Gameplay

The grid contains track sections and an empty space that makes tile movement possible. Sliding pieces toward that gap shifts the layout and relocates the opening, so moving one useful section can also disturb another part of your planned route. Your goal is to send the ball over the track pieces while preventing it from reaching a break. Curves and straight sections need to connect in the right order, and the ball’s current direction limits which piece will help next. Planning ahead matters because a tile may need several moves before it reaches the desired position. You can speed up the ball when a stretch is ready, but doing so reduces the time available for further adjustments. A built-in editor also lets you arrange custom puzzles. During normal play, success comes from coordinating two moving parts: the ball’s progress along the track and the shifting location of the empty space.
