Gameplay

An offensive possession is a sequence of decisions about gaining yards while keeping control of the ball. Selecting a running play sets up a route through the defense, while a pass asks you to judge receiver movement and the destination of the throw. The passing system uses an on-field aiming marker, with the timing of your release helping determine where the ball goes. On defense, formation choices let you prepare for different threats before trying to tackle the runner or prevent a completion. Those choices matter alongside your movement once the play begins, because a sound setup still needs to be carried through on the field. Punts can change field position when a drive stalls, and field goals offer another way to put points on the board. The match therefore moves between brief planning screens and bursts of direct action, with every possession affecting the score and the next starting position.
