Gameplay
On offense, you skate into position, pass to teammates, and choose when to release a shot. Quick shots and slap shots provide different ways to challenge the goalkeeper, while a faked slap shot can change the timing of an attack. On defense, controlling a skater lets you pressure the puck carrier and attempt body checks, which can lead to a separate fighting sequence. The goalie can also be controlled, adding responsibility near your own net. Exhibition settings offer full or simplified rules, so the amount of attention required for penalties and infractions can vary. Tournament play lets you either take part in scheduled games or have their results simulated, and a password records progress through the competition. Across those options, the central task stays focused on possession: create a clear shooting opportunity at one end and close down the opponent’s chances at the other.
