World Circuit is an overhead Formula-style racing game for the TurboGrafx-16. You drive an open-wheel car around paved circuits, working through corners and passing other racers. The camera shows the track from above, giving the action a different feel from racing games that place the viewpoint behind the car.

Gameplay
The main task is to complete laps quickly while keeping the car under control. Straight sections offer room to gain speed, but the next bend can arrive before a late steering correction will help. Approaching each corner at a manageable pace allows you to turn cleanly and return to acceleration sooner. Other cars add moving obstacles, making overtaking a question of available space as well as speed. Contact or a spin can cost valuable time and let the field move ahead. Because the view follows the car around the course, recognizing the direction of the next turn is a constant part of driving. Repeated laps give you a chance to learn where the circuit tightens and where a longer acceleration run is possible. The racing rewards a balance between speed and consistency, with clean cornering helping you maintain momentum throughout a lap and stay in reach of the cars ahead.
